Logo Suite Brand Identity
The Sacred Soul Collective
Brand Identity
The Sacred Soul Collective is a clothing brand inspired by early 2000s fashion, gothic influences, and alternative streetwear. Designed for Gen Z and young adults, the brand blends Y2K nostalgia with modern gothic aesthetics to create apparel that feels both authentic and contemporary.
This project focused on developing a complete brand identity before the official launch, providing the client with a strong visual foundation for introducing the brand to market. Deliverables included a full logo suite, color palette, typography, and supporting brand assets to establish a consistent and recognizable identity.
Design Challenge
The brand identity needed to successfully reflect the specific subculture and aesthetic the business was made to represent.
-
The identity needed to authentically represent the early 2000s gothic fashion subculture.
-
The client's inspiration included multiple visual styles that needed to be refined into one cohesive identity.
-
The logo needed to incorporate visual elements connected to the brand name and story.
-
Because the business was launching from the ground up, the identity needed to remain flexible as the brand grows.

Design Strategy
Before beginning the design process, I researched the target audience, competing brands, and the visual language of the alternative fashion community to develop an identity that felt authentic to the niche.
-
Reviewing the client's inspiration images to understand their vision and long-term goals.
-
Analyzing TikTok clothing hauls, creator content, and alternative fashion communities to identify visual trends that resonate with the target audience.
-
Studying competing brands to identify opportunities for differentiation while remaining recognizable within the market.
-
Evaluating how successful brands translate their aesthetic into a consistent visual identity beyond their apparel.
Key Findings
The research revealed that the target audience is drawn to brands that feel authentic rather than overly polished or corporate. While many competing brands successfully captured the early 2000s gothic aesthetic through their apparel, their branding often lacked the same personality and visual consistency. This presented an opportunity to create a cohesive brand identity that not only reflected the clothing but also strengthened brand recognition and helped build a loyal community around the brand.

Mood Board Development
Before any logo concepts were created, I developed a detailed mood boards to organize the client's inspirations into a clear visual direction. Because the initial references included a wide range of aesthetics, the mood board helped identify which elements best represented the brand.

Logo Development
I established a clear visual direction based on the clients inspirations.
-
Historic gothic lettering found throughout Greyfriars Kirkyard in Edinburgh, particularly gravestones featuring the word "Sacred."
-
Religious symbolism connected to the brand name, including the Sacred Heart and crosses.
-
Early 2000s Y2K graphics and typography.
-
Modern alternative streetwear and gothic fashion.
